A few thoughts about this breeding,
I think it's important to share with our families the reason and of course the hope's of each
litter we raise. Giving you and idea and a "biography" if you will, detailing the history and
decisions made that brought this litter to fruition.
When planning Dendrin's litter I carefully researched and considered exactly what I wanted for
her future generation. What strengths I could bring forward and what weaknesses I wanted to
minimize.
Temperament for both Slayd and Dendrin exemplify everything a Lab is and should be
known for. Both are very lovable and loyal, they have happy wagging tails and a very laid back
friendly approach to everything and everyone.
Slayd- He's a awesome boy that truly draws your eye into him. His natural balance and
presentation create a very stoic picture ,kinda reminding me of a Lion looking over his pride, lol
However, say his name and instantly his ears "cup" and his tail will start wagging so hard
sometimes I think he's gonna throw himself off balance :) His intelligence is easy to see as you
begin to interact with him. Like all of our "kids" early socialization and ongoing communication
every day strengthens and matures a solid relationship . Slayd will always keep focus on you,
reading what I am trying to convey to him and with a gentle willingness that's always eager to
please, will respond to whatever command or direction I am wanting to take with him. He is
forever a happy boy , with his signature grin and animated antics!
Dendrin- She was born, I think ,walking at heel, lol. It has always came very naturally to her.
Interesting enough, her mom was the same way :) She has such a sweet nature to her, her
focus is unwavering and her loyalty unmatched. When you work with her, she is extremely
focused and intent on you. She takes a more serious approach to training, naturally
understanding since a young age when it was time to play and when it was time to work. She
has what I call the "light switch". She's a great family companion while just lounging around
here at home, laid back temperament that like all of our kids , takes everything in stride.
However, take her to the duck blind or give her the impression that we are going bird hunting
and a very real and noticeable change occurs. Her focus becomes intent and steady, she is
aware of everything around her and will follow my every move. She's quiet and poised to take
action, when given the command. She has incredible drive and runs hard while working. She
moves with the intelligence and style of a well trained athlete. As a mother for the first time at 4
years old, I couldn't have asked for better. Never misplacing a foot and immediately in love and
caring for her newborn babies. She has such a softness to her and when she looks at you, you
know she adores you.
The Litter- I have such great expectations for these babies :) As I watch them grow I continue
to realize what a great pairing between Dendrin and Slayd this is proving to be. The babies are
beautiful. Good structure, with nice bone. Great lil otter tails, nice short coupling with just the
right amount of back for me. Beautiful necks and gorgeous heads. These babies,
competitively, will be able to stand and move beautifully around a show ring, work and impress
in the field with style, skill and intelligence, yet while at home becomes that part of your family
you wondered how you ever lived without :) While your Pridezion "kid" may never walk into a
competitive ring, it's nice to know that the quality and care has gone into this breeding just the
same.
