~Started Puppy (12 weeks - 18 months old)~
Welcoming a started pup into your home is a relatively easy and a rewarding alternative to "early puppyhood"!

What you can expect~

Keep in mind you have adopted a Started Puppy, not a Finished Dog. Your started puppy is comfortable in a crate, so
there is no need to crate train. He/She is is potty trained, however, you will need to set a new pattern in your home,
and this is easy using the crate. By setting a new pattern, I am referring to showing her/him and allowing her/him to
familiarize his/herself with their new enviroment. Not allowing them to free roam the house but rather using the crate in
the kitchen or laundry room ( an area where she/he is still a part of the familily activites)to acclimate to her/his new
surroundings. The pup would go from crate to outside potty area (also make sure that if you do not have a contained
area to let her/him run free, then keep him/her on a leash). Allow them to potty, if they poop keep in mind they may
poop, walk around a bit and poop some more! A common mistake is letting a pup back into the house before they
finish the potty break. This sets the pup up for failure, as they are gonna finish inside the house. Once potty break is
over invite them in for a short free roam visit in the house, then crate again until the next potty break. This is to insure
you are teaching your pup where the new "potty area" is in a new enviroment and you should only have to take the
first 4 or 5 days to establish this new routine with your pup.

You pup is leash trained, this means your pup should not be pulling on the leash and I have demonstrated how to walk
them the day you picked him/her up. Do not allow your pup to form a habit of walking out in front of you when you are
in a formal walk, allowing them room to potty on leash can be communicated by the "ok" command. Which I
demonstrated when you picked your pup up or demonstrated in a video if we shipped your pup to you.

Your pup knows the command "Whoa" which means to stand still at my side. See Video below for demonstration.

The "Heel" command means to walk at heel (alongside of you) *also demonstrated below in the video

Your Pup knows "Kennel" which means to enter their crate.

The command "Sit" means to sit! (and stay in a sit until you release them, we don't use the command stay)

"Leave it" this command tells them that they must leave whatever they are doing alone.

All of our pups are intro'd to field work, even on a basic level. Such as gunfire, birds, fun fetch, etc...

Since we really like a calm focused temperament, we do not produce dogs with alot of nervous excitable energy that or
what alot of our families refer to as a "hyper" dog. I believe that the best hunting dogs for me, are the ones with a
great desire to do what they were bred to do, and remain a calm family companion . It's a perfect balance.....
